Lake City Udaipur will be gifted with the city’s first ever mechanical/automated parking in 5 months’ time. The work for the car-parking is being done on war-footing.
An iron structure has already been erected at Surajpole choraha. Once the structure is well in place, the rest of the process will begin and it is quite likely that the parking lot will get ready within 5 months. It may be noted that the city is in need of a mechanical parking system to deal with the growing pressure of traffic in the areas of Surajpole and Bapu Bazar which are the main market centres and also house a number of employment organisations.
To complete the work at the earliest and keeping in view the pressure of traffic during the day, the work is also being carried over at night.
86 cars can be parked at one go in the 6-floored mechanical parking area. The project has attracted a budget of 6.1 crore rupees.
