The much wanted reconstruction of the UIT bridge is about to begin. It may be noted that this bridge gets submerged almost every time whenever water is released from Swaroop Sagar/Fateh Sagar due to its low lying level.

For bringing down the current structure and reconstruction of a more elevated bridge, the route will be closed from June 17th till December 31st 2016. The new bridge will be constructed at a level of 3.5 mtrs from the river bed and will cost Rs 3.47 Crore.

During the time of closure, Udaipurites might use the route from Chetak via Panchwati for going towards Saheliyon ki Badi and onwards.

Though UIT has budgeted six months for completion of the new bridge, it expects the work to be completed before the set time period.
