Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Udaipur, today, declared its Budget for session 2012 – 13 at its seminar hall. UIT has budgeted an expected Revenues of Rs 238.33 crore for the fiscal. From this, an expenditure of Rs 238.19 crore has been planned to be spent on number of developmental projects in city & also the 62 villages located in sub-urban parts.

In his budgetary speech, Roop Kumar Khurana urged the engineers to ensure consistent working in running projects and also to have a weekly progress review on every project.

Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Udaipur, today, declared its Budget for session 2012 – 13 at its seminar hall. UIT has budgeted an expected Revenues of Rs 238.33 crore for the fiscal. From this, an expenditure of Rs 238.19 crore has been planned to be spent on number of developmental projects in city & also the 62 villages located in sub-urban parts.

The Reserved Rate for Land, for both residential and commercial plots has been increased by 20 % and 30 % respectively – A step that will bring in a hike in land prices.

Below are the key points from the Budget regarding the development in city:

  • Target to improve roads between sub urban and urban areas through a ring road system. In the first phase, four-lane roads are      proposed between between Bhuwana Circle to Pratap Nagar & from Pratap Nagar Toll Booth till Madri Circle. Besides, it has been proposed to establish road connectivity from Bhuwana Circle to Thur.
  • Work on the elevated road is proposed to be started this fiscal.
  • Construction of flyover at Pratap Nagar will be started this year; The projected cost for this project is Rs 10 Cr.
  • All pending work of Khel Gaon to be completed and the stadium to be passed over to the Sports Council of Rajasthan.
  • Work on beautification of both Vibhuti Park and Rajiv Ghandhi Park will be completed. Rajiv Art Gallery will be established at Rajiv Gandhi Park & Fish Aquarium to be constructed at Fatehsagar Pal.
  • Re-structuring work under NLCP of Fatehsagar and Pichola lakes to be given momentum and completed soon.
  • Installation of Sewerage Treatment Plant at Manwakheda will be done in joint association of HZL; Daily Project Report (DPR) will be finalized under NLCP and work order issued.
  • Special plan for development & beautification of Ahad River will be prepared & presented to Central Government under the National River Preservation Project.
  • Beautification plan for both Goverdhan Sagar and Udai Sagar will be prepared and presented to NLCP for sanctioning.
  • Road network of Sector area will be planned and implemented.
  • Obstacles on various roads will be removed for smooth flow of traffic.
  • Around 596 houses will be given to BPL families in coming year and land for construction of additional houses will be made available as per requirements.
  • Target for providing Drinking Water to various colonies of Udaipur under different schemes.
  • · Budgetary provision made for project work on taking the electric cables underground and for electrification of various other projects works.
  • Maintenance of Community Centres will be ensured.
  • Construction of bridge over Bedla River will be completed.
  • Distribution and auction of around 1000 plots sanctioned for various sects of city.
  • Construction of road dividers & tree plantation will be given up for adoption.
  • Land will be provided to Transportation Department for build Driving Track wherein a park will be developed by the Trust.
  • To solve problem of rain water blocking in various parts of city, number of channels and canals have been installed; provision for the same is kept in current budget.
  • From tourism view point, improvement work will be carried out at hills located in Bhuwana.
  • Considering suggestion given in recent seminar on heritage, major circles of city will be renovated to give it a heritage flavour.
  • Space for Bus stands on main roads connecting highways around city will be provided so that transport vehicles from outside city can be prevented from entering the inner city.
  • Aim to computerise various departments to ensure transparency and systematic working in UIT.
  • Information of land and houses will be provided via internet as a special service to citizens.
