The Udaipur Municipal Corporation has implemented several measures to combat seasonal diseases, including fogging operations, regulating petrol boat activities, and offering funeral vehicles for those in need.

To curb seasonal diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya, the corporation will purchase two large and five small fogging machines to improve mosquito control. The smaller machines will be used in narrow city lanes.

Stricter Regulations for Petrol Boats

The committee discussed the operation of petrol boats by hotels on Lake Pichola. Following a High Court order, the corporation has introduced battery boats, and hotels will be required to switch to battery-powered options. Starting April 1, 2025, licenses for petrol boats operating in Lake Pichola will not be renewed. All hotel operators will be notified to comply with this new regulation. Additionally, after Doodh Talai, proposals were approved to purchase eight small and large boats for Goverdhan Sagar.

New City Buses

Following discussions regarding the Udaipur Municipal Corporation receiving 50 eco-friendly buses from the state government, new city bus routes have been planned for Lakadwas and Nai villages. The government issued a tender for purchasing these buses approximately 20 days ago. Committee member Devendra Pujari alleged that a contractor operating old city buses was illegally collecting fares from needy individuals, students, and senior citizens. The committee will conduct a surprise inspection and issue a notice to the contractor.

Funeral Vehicles for Public Convenience

To assist those in need, two funeral vehicles (moksha raths) will be provided free of charge. Currently, the Municipal Corporation has no funeral vehicles, making it difficult for people living far from cremation grounds.
