Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC), in an effort to solve traffic congestion and parking problems, has decided to start pre-paid parking across the city. The proposal is initially to start the prepaid parking in busy market areas like Bapu Bazaar and Ashwini Bazaar.

According to Durgesh Sharma, President, Revenue Committee, businessmen of these busy markets would be instructed to park their vehicles in these parking lots.

Durgesh Sharma also added that plots or land pieces registered in name of UMC would be converted to Parking lots and if required, UMC will buy land within city from other departments.
