Udaipur Municipal Corporation Revenue Committee explores options to increase revenue

Increase in rentals of UMC owned shops and kiosks possible soon

Options to increase revenue of the Udaipur Municipal Corporation were top agenda at the Revenue Committe meeting of UMC held last week in Udaipur. The meeting took place under the chair of Arvind Jharoli, the Chairman of the Revenue Committee in the present of Dy Mayor of Udaipur, Paras Singhvi.

Rental

Among the points discussed was the rental of municipal properties like the shops, kiosks, etc. It was decided that a proposal will be put up in the general body to increase the rentals of the shops and kiosks under the umbrella of the UMC.

Action Will Be Taken Against Saras Cabins For Selling Banned Items:

The Revenue Committee members discussed the issue of sale of banned items at Saras kiosks and decided that strict action will be taken against those Saras cabins in the district that are selling banned items. Action will go as far as canncelling the license of those kiosk operators who set up stalls in areas other than those for which permission has been given.

Urban Development Tax Survey

Deputy Mayor Paras Singhvi laid emphasis on the survey conducted on Urban Development Tax in the city and the income received from it. It was decided that the survey done by the private organization should be physically verified. Instructions were given to the concerned officers to ensure no mistakes creep up in the survey. The physical verification will be done soon by the Chairman of the Revenue Committee, and members of the Revenue Committee.

Illegal Hoardings Will Be Removed:

There are many illegal hoardings placed in the city. It was brought to the notice by the Committee members that instructions have already been issued by the State government to remove the illegal hoardings in the city by running a campaign, but no action has been taken. On this note, Deputy Mayor Paras Singhvi directed Committee Chairman Arvind Jharoli to take immediate action.
