UMC's 7 year old Hospital starts functioning

The newly constructed hospital by the Udaipur Municipal Council (UMC) was inaugurated today by Rajnath Singh, former National President, BJP.

The hospital has been under construction since the past 7 years, the foundation for which was set by the then Chairperson of UMC, Ravindra Shrimali.

The hospital has been under construction since the past 7 years, the foundation for which was set by the then Chairperson of UMC, Ravindra Shrimali.

The inauguration was done at 4 PM in the presence of Rajnath Singh along with Rameshwar Prasad Vaid; Ravindra Shrimali, Ex-Chairman, UMC; Rajni Dangi, Chaiperson, UMC; Gulab Chand Kataria, Former MLA.

The hospital is a Satellite hospital, which has a separate department for men and women. It has 4 wards with facilities for First Aid. The hospital is spread across a 1,16,000 sq. feet campus.

“Its construction was started in 2005 after the budget was passed, whereas the Shillanyas was done in 1999”, said Rajni Dangi. The budget that was passed in December 2005 was of Rs. 15 lac, but due to some glitches, it was re-tendered and was granted a Rs. 55 lac budget.

The hospital has residence facility for nursing staff in terms of Guest house and also hosts five medical shops in the Hospital compound. The hospital is situated at Housing Board Colony, Sec 14, Udaipur.
