Violators can be fined up to 100,000 Saudi riyals (Rs 22.94 lakh) and legal action can also be taken against them
April 9, 2025 – Saudi Arabia has cautioned visitors from overstaying in the country after April 29, and said it would be considered a legal violation and strict penalties would be imposed on foreigners found guilty. All service providers have been told to strictly follow the departure deadlines and reporting protocols for foreign pilgrims.
According to the Ministry of Haj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, those who have got Umrah visa should complete it and exit the country by April 29. In its order the Ministry has said April 29 will be the last day for foreign Umrah pilgrims to leave Saudi Arabia.
As per a report published in UAE-based Gulf News, the Ministry has said, “April 13 has been set as the last date for entry into Saudi Arabia for Umrah performers this year, while the pilgrimage deadline will end on April 29.” It added that individuals, companies and Umrah service providers who flout the rules and do not report overstaying pilgrims can be fined up to 100,000 Saudi riyals (Rs 22.94 lakh) and legal action can also be taken against them.
