Udaipur, October 2, 2024: Udaipur Nagar Nigam has taken action against an unauthorised construction in the city on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, and has seized the building. According to Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash, the illegal construction was being carried out in the Shia Dawoodi Bohra Trust building, located in front of Swaroop Sagar Ghat on Pratap Marg, near the SBI Regional Office, Udaipur.

The Trust was issued a notice by the Udaipur Nagar Nigam on August 30, 2024. It submitted its response in writing, but upon verification, the Corporation deemed the response unsatisfactory.

The Commissioner explained that the construction by the Trust was in violation of the provisions of Section 194 (7) (F) of the Rajasthan Municipality Act, 2009, and constituted a punishable offence. Consequently, the Revenue Branch of the Corporation, under Section 194 (7) (F) of the Rajasthan Municipality Act, has seized the second and third floors of the premises for a period of three months or until further orders.

During the operation, Police Inspector Mangilal Dangi, Revenue Officer Nitesh Bhatnagar and Revenue Inspector Vijay Jain were present.
