Udaipur, December 27,2024 - Following the tanker blast on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways directed the district administration and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Udaipur to take immediate action to close unauthorized cuts on the National Highway.
In a three-day campaign, NHAI teams have closed nearly 50 unauthorized cuts along the Udaipur-Chittorgarh National Highway. The operation is being carried out under the supervision of Harish Chanda, Project Director of NHAI Udaipur. The teams are targeting cuts made near hotels, petrol pumps, and service roads along the highway.
Suryapratap Singh, the Project Head of the Expressway, mentioned that as part of this campaign, approximately 50 unauthorized cuts have been closed over a 93.4 km stretch. These closures include cuts along the route from Udaipur to Chittorgarh, passing through Dabik, Manglavad, and Bhadsoda.
Udaipur District Collector Arvind Poswal and Alok Ranjan had earlier instructed NHAI to close these unauthorized cuts to prevent accidents and improve public safety.
