A delegation of University students led by Pankaj Borana, President, MLSU student’s union, met the Vice Chancellor, Prof. I.V Trivedi, today, put forward their demands to place a statue of Swami Vivekananda in the University premises and introducing SMS facility among students to solve their queries.

Prof Trivedi welcomed the thoughts put forth to him by the students and assured to take effective measures after discussing with all top officials of the university.

“Swami Vivekananda was a great personality and is always remembered as a youth icon, his great ideology and profound thoughts inspire youth”, said Pankaj Borana.

Student’s leader also demanded the facility of text messages to the students of the University. In this facility, the students shall be provided different codes for their various queries and complaints. “All they have to do is send a text message on a given number and they shall get back their reply for the details within 30 seconds” said Borana.

Prof. I. V Trivedi welcomed the ideas and assured to implement them soon. “For the proposed Swami Vivekananda statue, University is ready to give them the space with a platform to place the statue and shall also provide the facility of fountains, garden and lights around it.”

“But the statue is to be managed on their self expenditure”, mentioned I.V. Trivedi, Vice Chancellor MLSU when questioned about the post management of the statue.

Professor Trivedi also said that “The facility of text messages would be started soon for the betterment of the students. I will call a meeting of the Council of Deans and put up both the issues in front of them”.
