In a meeting regarding the street vendors, Municipal Corporation became alert when one of the members raised questions about the street sides being flooded by the street vendors. This made the teams alert and they went ahead to notify the street vendors.

Teams of Municipal Corporation reached Durga Nursery road on Monday and warned the unlicensed street vendors to vacate the area by Tuesday. The licensed street vendors were also issued directives to use the space that has been given to them and that if their carts are found in places other than the allotted ones, then both the cart and the license would be seized.

The concerned officers have also been issued directives to seize the unlicensed vendors. It may be noted that the councillors had laid emphasis on the point that Udaipur has become more of a “Thela city” where employees of Municipal Corporation accept money for giving place to the street vendors. Even the Shobhagpura road has become street vendors’ road.
