Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced on Sunday that schools from classes 6th to 8th will be allowed to reopen from 8th February. Classes for first year and second year undergraduate students and post graduate students will also resume under this unlock. It is well known that the pandemic has restricted number of activities since 2019 and education has suffered the most.

Rajasthan has already reopened schools for classes 9th to 12th and coaching centres and government training centres from the 18th of January. All the decisions regarding unlock are being taken as covid positive cases have decreased to a good extent in the state.

The Chief Minister also announced that cinema halls, movie theatres and swimming pools will also be opened in this new unlock but the date is yet to be declared.

CM Ashok Gehlot issued these directives after a meeting to review the vaccination drive in Rajasthan state. He also stated that 200 people will henceforth be allowed to gather for social events like weddings etc., the number for social gatherings earlier was fixed at 100 people. It was specified that all covid protocols must be followed in all cases.
