In a blunder discovered yesterday, a family received a bill of Rs. 70,000 for a postpaid connection which was not used by any member of the family.
The SIM which was activated on the name of Abha Bhatnagar, was being used by some unknown accused who is using the connection from past three years. Also, the family received a bill for the same connection in April this year, which was around Rs. 16000.
In April, family members inquired in the company for the charges, where they found out about the SIM being used for the past three years. The company did not take Amy action then. This month when the family received the bill, they filed an FIR.
Mayur, son of the victim said that, “The credit limit of the data plan in the connection is Rs. 1500 and the accused has not paid any amount in three years, but the company still didn’t disconnect the outgoing calls on the SIM, which is questionable”.
