Update-Firing at teacher’s residence

Regarding firing at a teacher’s residence in Ahinsa Puri on Sunday, an update has been received. Investigations revealed that the firing was done by one of the neighbours, though accidentally. The neighbour has not been arrested.

As per reports, the neighbour has 9 licensed guns. 5 of these are registered under the name of wife and sons and other family members. As per rules, all weapons are to be deposited in police stations before elections but the neighbour deposited only 5 of these guns. On the day of the incident, the accused was cleaning his 315 bore gun. He accidentally fired from this gun. The gun shot not only injured the female teacher but also damaged certain things in the house. It was just a relief that the gun shot did not hit the teacher directly.

The point of concern is that the neighbour did not deposit the remaining 4 guns and it was not even noticed by the police despite the fact that the accused holds license for all the weapons in the house. Police says that a case has been registered against the neighbour and he will be arrested as well.
