The Ambassador of the United States to India, Eric M. Garcetti, is set to grace the historic city of Udaipur today, marking the beginning of a three-day tour aimed at exploring the cultural treasures of Rajasthan. Scheduled to touch down at Dabok Airport at precisely 2:45 PM, Ambassador Garcetti's visit promises to enhance diplomatic ties and foster cultural exchange between the United States and India.
Upon his arrival, Ambassador Garcetti will commence his tour with a visit to the majestic City Palace. He will be staying at the luxurious Leela Palace Hotel, nestled along the picturesque shores of Pichola Lake, providing a serene backdrop for his stay. Highlights of his tour encompass visits to renowned sites such as the Ranakpur Jain Temple, the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, and Chittorgarh Fort, among others.
In a statement issued by Protocol Officer Shikha Saxena, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, it is revealed that Ambassador Garcetti will also witness light and sound show at the historic Kumbhalgarh Fort, offering a glimpse into the region's storied past. As part of the tour the Ambassador will also explore destinations beyond Udaipur, venturing into Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, and Pali.
Ambassador Garcetti is poised to depart for Delhi via flight at 3:20 PM on Saturday, bidding farewell to the enchanting landscapes and warm hospitality that define his Udaipur experience.
Before this, Ambassador Garcetti went to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan. There, he engaged in a game of gully cricket with aspiring female cricketers. Rajasthan Royals' CEO, Jake Lush McCrum, welcomed him and introduced him to women beneficiaries from the franchise's social equity arm, the Royal Rajasthan Foundation. The Ambassador also met members of the official fan program, Super Royals. The women beneficiaries shared how the Foundation's initiatives in water conservation and solar power have positively impacted their lives in the Sambar block.
Ambassador Garcetti demonstrated his cricket abilities by batting against Aditi Chouhan, co-winner of Cricket Ka Ticket, and Manasvi Katta, the runner-up. He also interacted with young women, expressing his hope to see them compete in the cricket event at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The Ambassador commended the Royals for their support in promoting women's cricket in Rajasthan and throughout India.
