November 6, 2024 – Republican Donald Trump has claimed victory in the 2024 Presidential contest, telling supporters that America had given him an "unprecedented and powerful mandate". According to projections, Trump has secured a second term as President of the United States. Trump won crucial battleground states and Kamala Harris is unlikely to reach the necessary electoral votes.
Trump addressed supporters in Florida, saying in his victory speech, "This will be the golden age of America. America has given us an unprecedented mandate". He added that this moment will 'help this country heal'.
With wins in states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina, Trump is predicted to surpass the 270 electoral votes required to win. As of right now, Harris has 214 electoral votes. Other states, including as Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada are still counting votes, but the results are not anticipated to alter the final decision.
