War on Gaza

Udaipur, February 14, 2025 - Mediators from Egypt and Qatar are working to save the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas after Hamas delayed the release of three Israeli hostages. Israel has warned of resuming war if hostages are not freed by Saturday. The situation in Gaza remains tense as both sides prepare for possible conflict. Meanwhile, the US has refused Israel’s continued military presence in southern Lebanon beyond the ceasefire deadline.

The US has reportedly approved Israel’s continued military presence in southern Lebanon beyond the ceasefire deadline. Although Israel was supposed to withdraw by January 26, the deadline was extended to February 18, and Israel is now requesting to stay until February 28.

Israel’s military struck two people flying a drone in southern Gaza. Gaza’s health ministry confirmed that a 44-year-old man was killed near the city of Rafah. Since the ceasefire began last month, at least 92 Palestinians have been killed and over 800 injured by Israeli fire.

Hamas has announced a delay in the release of three Israeli hostages scheduled for Saturday. However, a Hamas official stated there were “positive signs” that the release will still happen as planned.

Egypt and Jordan Call for Gaza's Reconstruction

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah have stressed that Gaza should be rebuilt without displacing Palestinians. They emphasized the need for the ceasefire agreement to be fully implemented.

Israel Warns of War if Hostages Are Not Released

Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, has threatened military action if Hamas does not uphold the ceasefire and release the hostages by Saturday. He stated that “all hell would break loose” if Hamas fails to comply.

Israeli Military Mobilizes Troops

In preparation for a possible resumption of fighting, Israel has called up reservists and deployed additional forces near Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the reinforcement of troops in the region. Despite accusing Israel of violating the truce, Hamas has emphasized its willingness to continue the ceasefire. However, a Hamas spokesperson has rejected threats from Israel and the US.

Red Cross Urges Both Sides to Maintain Ceasefire

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has called on both Israel and Hamas to continue the ceasefire. It warned that people in Gaza urgently need humanitarian aid and a break from violence.
