Vaccination not done at 9 PHCs

Because of children's vaccination day, the PHCs cancelled covid vaccination and people had to return home without getting vaccinated after long hours of waiting.

-CMHO Dr Kharadi said that there will be no covid vaccination on the children's vaccination day as safety guidelines must be adhered to. 

-More than 3000 senior citizens were vaccinated on Thursday at 31 centres.

The negligence of the health department resulted in the senior citizens returning home without vaccination. After long hours of waiting, the senior citizens at 9 PHCs (Primary Health Care Centres) were informed that they will not be vaccinated as Thursday was the children’s vaccination day and the guidelines pertaining to safety had to be adhered to.

The senior citizens were deprived of this facility and they returned home disheartened. It has also been informed that there will be no covid vaccination on these 9 PHCs even on Sunday as children’s vaccination is carried out even on Sunday.

More than 3000 senior citizens took covid vaccination on Thursday at 31 other centres. The numbers of vaccinated senior citizens has gone to 23 thousand plus.  742 frontline workers also took the vaccine shots and 3934 employees of the revenue department took the 2nd shot. Collector Chetan Devra, ADM (Admin) OP Bunkar and ADM (City) Ashok Kumar also received the 2nd shot of vaccination.

Even after vaccination, the mandates like wearing masks, maintaining social distance must be strictly followed. People must understand that mask is the only way to stay safe. One must also eat well and exercise daily to boost immunity.
