The ongoing construction of Vibhuti Park facing Lake Fateh Sagar has stepped forward for another developing phase today. The work of retaining wall is going on with utmost care; for security reasons the over bridge passing through lake’s channel gate (kala kivad) to the entrance of Fateh Sagar Paal has been kept closed for any vehicle. The retaining wall which is will be 12 meters high and 25 meters wide is already erected upto 7 meters; the purpose of this wall is to prevent any land slide in future. While talking to some construction workers, they said that there could be anything like falling of tree or landslide as we are erecting the wall high. However, no one from UIT was available for the comment. Project of Vibhuti Park is going on with the joint contribution of Central Government and Urban Development Trust of Udaipur, while the construction project is given to various companies.   This mega plan consists of two parks and a parking area for commuters. The construction is going on from the last few years and has also faced some agitation from lake conservation committee and some local NGOs in the past considering that the construction might be harmful for the lake. An unofficial estimated time for completing the construction of the retaining wall was April 2011, but we can see the work is still in progress. The project is delayed due to many reasons.
