Volkswagen Udaipur hosted its ‘Smilage Rally 2012’ today, a car rally for existing as well as prospective customers of the Petrol Polo and the Petrol Vento in the city.

The rally was an initiative taken by Volkswagen Udaipur to promote fuel-efficient driving among its customers as well as provide them an opportunity to win exciting prizes.

The drive was flagged off from Oriental Palace Resorts, Udaipur at 8:00 A.M. by Neeraj Verma, Area Manager (Raj.) and Rahul Shah, Director (Rajesh Motor Group). The participants’ drove along a pre decided route toward Singhania University, travelling approximately 70 km.

The rally saw a total of 40 participants, among which 15 drove the Vento and 25 drove the Polo. The fuel consumed was calculated and the participants with the best fuel mileage were declared the winners. Prizes included a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for the winner and Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 for the first and second runners up respectively for all categories.

Muhammad Ayubh and Arun Gupta grabbed the first and second positions respectively in the Polo category while Dr. Ajit Kumar and Dr. M.S. Surana secured first and second positions in the Vento category.

Aftab was declared the winner in Polo 1.6 category and Arvind Chittora in the Vento 1.6 AT.

The rally concluded with the company organizing number of games and activities for the families and children of the participants’ families.
