Voter Fraud? 700 Voters Registered under One Address in Badgaon, Udaipur
Serious claims of voter fraud in Badgaon Gram Panchayat, with 700 names added illegally. Public officials call for immediate action from the District Collector
Udaipur, Aug 22, 2025: A large number of names of bogus (fake) voters have been allegedly added in the voter lists in Badgaon Gram Panchayat area of Gogunda assembly constituency. There is a residential address in which the names of about 700 voters have been added. Local public representatives have demanded District Collector Namit Mehta to address this concern and give instructions to have these bogus voters removed by facilitating physical verification and also take legal action against the concerned BLO.
Administrator of Badgaon Panchayat, Sanjay Sharma and Panchayat Samiti member, Bhuvanesh Vyas have lodged a complaint in this matter with the District Collector who is also the District Election Officer in the district level public hearing on Thursday, August 21. The Collector was handed over the documents as proof to substantiate this claim. As per the evidence given to the Collector, many fake voters are mentioned in the voter list of part numbers 265, 266, 267, 268, 269, 270, 271 and 272 of Gogunda assembly constituency-149. In Bandinal area, names of about 700 voters have been added against house number 111 of part number 267. Whereas these people do not reside here. In the recent elections also, the voting percentage of the said polling station part number 267A was the lowest in the entire district at 37.15 percent. This also makes it clear that fake names have been added. Names of 300 voters have been added in house number 82 of the same part number 267.
The Collector was also apprised that the names of many fake voters have been entered in the voter list of all part numbers of Badgaon Gram Panchayat area of Gogunda Assembly constituency 149. These people do not reside here. This fraud is being done with the connivance of government employees. In such a situation, along with removing the fake names, action should also be taken against the responsible BLO as per the regulations of the Election Commission of India. The public representatives have also expressed surprise at such a large number of frauds in the voter lists in the Panchayat area close to the city.
