Waiting passengers to avail Empty Berths online

Sanjay Das, Executive Director of Central Information Reservation System, Railway Board said that the trains commencing from Udaipur railway station, if has the absence of a passenger on a confirmed seat, it will be updated in the chart as ‘vacant’ by the TTE. The hand terminal kept with the TTE will have its connection to the next big station’s reservation network of Mawli, Chittor and Bhilwara.
Das further said that, the attendants of AC and Non-AC coaches of North-Western Railways will be made online within the next 6 months. The initial stations including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Udaipur and their TTEs will be provided small laptops or Hand-held terminals. The reservation chart will be downloaded on the TTE’s laptop.
If a confirmed seat at a particular station is found vacant or empty due to absence of the passenger, the TTE will update it in the list with his terminal so that the passengers in the waiting list of the next big station will get intimated about the empty berth.
