Fateh Sagar and Pichola still anticipate water levels...
The city of Udaipur saw its first significant rainfall of the monsoon season on Wednesday, with 1.25 inches of rain falling in just one hour. This sudden downpour led to a notable rise in the water level of Udai Sagar Lake by 6 inches, but Fateh Sagar and Pichola lakes have not yet received any inflow.
The level of Udai Sagar Lake increased from 17.7 feet to 18.1 feet. In addition, the Dewas Dam’s water level rose by 9 inches, reaching 4.9 feet in a dam with a 34-foot capacity. The Sukher Ka Naka dam saw its level rise from 9.1 feet to 9.5 feet. Despite these gains, other major dams and lakes in the region did not experience any increase in water levels.
The meteorological department has forecasted more heavy rain for Udaipur and surrounding districts on Friday, issuing a yellow alert in anticipation of the weather.
July 25,2024, however, was dry, leading to noticeable changes in temperature. The daytime temperature rose by 1.8 degrees Celsius to 32.4°C, while the nighttime temperature dropped by 3.6 degrees to 20.1°C. From 5:00 PM on Wednesday to 8:00 AM on Thursday, the highest rainfall recorded in the district was 46 mm in Bagoliya.
