It seems winter is going to bid farewell, though somewhat late this year. Temperature charts are going higher making one realise that it is the summer season now.

In the past five days, a rise in temperature has been witnessed. The maximum temperature went up by 8.2 degrees and the minimum rose by 5.2 degrees. We are in the 3rd week of March and experiencing the heat comparatively late. Normally the heat beigns to rise with the holika dahan and this year the temperatures have jumped a little late.

As per the met department, the maximum temperature recorded on Thursday was 34.4 degrees and the minimum was at 15.8 degrees. The depression in the west is the reason behind the prolonged winter season as a result of which rain and hail storm in most parts of the country were witnessed.

People used to feel cold even in the afternoon due to cold waves but since the past 2 days, the effect of heat is being felt and the sun's heat is more like a prick on the skin.
