-Minimum temperature drops down by 4 degrees.

-It is going to be extremely cold and the chill will rule this week.

Winter has hit back with vengeance as snowfall in the north brought a great deal of shivers disrupting life. The sudden drop in the minimum temperature on Thursday proved that the real winter season is here and cold waves will rule.

The minimum temperature recorded in Udaipur on Thursday was 8 degrees which was unbearable as the past weeks witnessed too much of fluctuations and the nights had gone comparatively warm. The appearance of fog had somehow hinted that the weather would change considerably in the coming days and this would go on.

Sun gave but very little relief as cold waves superseded the heat. Certain districts faced frost where temperatures dropped below 4 degrees with Chaandan in Jaisalmer at( -1.5) and Mount Abu with -1.0 degrees. The met department says that fog is likely to be experienced in Eastern and Western parts of Rajasthan. Visibility would be at less than 500 metres and the afternoons are also going to be extremely cold. A death has also been reported in Anoopgarh, Sriganganagar .

The numbers of morning walkers in Udaipur have reduced. Tourists spots have also been hit with the chill and roads isolated by dark. Winter season is likely to be much colder this year. It is being expected that temperatures will drop to a great extent keeping public indoors and cold waves will be quite piercing.

Orange alert has been declared as some districts including Rajsamand recorded minimum temperature at 4 degrees and some districts recorded below 0 degrees. Even the lowest maximum temperatures have been recorded between 13 to 16 degrees. The department has alerted the masses of the forthcoming chill.
