Rajasthan Pensioners Society president says elderly and ill pensioners are unable to visit hospital for consultation as required by the government order
Udaipur, December 4, 2024 - The order mandating pensioners to visit OPD (Outpatient Department) for consultations at both private and government hospitals has been denounced.
Bhavwar Seth, the president of Rajasthan Pensioners Society, said that many pensioners are extremely weak, paralysed, suffering from incurable diseases or are elderly, along with family pensioners and parents or in-laws of serving officers and employees. For them to visit these hospitals for OPD consultations is difficult. This order is causing problems in providing treatment for these patients and their caregivers, he added.
Seth mentioned that a large number of pensioners in the State live alone, and many of them are completely immobile, making it extremely difficult for them to follow this order.
He has appealed for complete relaxation of this directive for pensioners and urged the government to immediately withdraw this order.
Meanwhile, the State Government has extended the deadline for submitting the Life Certificate from November 30 to January 31, 2025. Under the Rajasthan Civil Services (Pension) Rules, it is mandatory for pensioners to submit a life certificate once a year, which is usually in November.
