Woman delivered child inside a police vehicle

The woman and her newly born girl child both are healthy and are admitted at the local hospital of the district

The Banswara police has turned into midwives for a pregnant woman on Saturday as they helped her to deliver a child inside the police vehicle.

It was on Saturday night when a team of Ghatol police station of the district was on patrolling.The team spotted a car with all its gate opened near Banswara-Jaipur way on National Highway 56. When the team approached the car for enquiry the cops discovered that there were three people inside the car including a 25 year old woman identified as Durga Barod a resident of Pachamhuri village was screaming in labour pain. When cops asked them about the incident they informed that Durga was about to deliver a child and they were taking her to the Khamera Hospital but their car suddenly borke down and they need help.

The relatives of the pregnant woman was worrying about her and suddenly the cops decided to shift her in the police van and rushed towards the hospital.But the she delivered a girl child inside the police van minutes before reaching at the hospital.

Station House Officer Ghatol police station Rajveer Singh Chahar said "It was around 1.30 am when the police patrolling team including a Head Constable Jitendra Singh and Driver Shamboo Lal were taking rounds on the Highway 56 when they spotted a car standing at the road side, the team also heard screams of a woman coming from that car. They went close to the car to check where they got know that there was a pregnant woman inside car and her relatives were seeking help as their car was broken down.

The team immediately informed me about the incident after which i directed them to take her to the hospital in the police van. But before they could reach to the hospital the woman delivered while being taken to the hospital".
