A woman died after jumping from a 50 feet high water tank in VIP colony in Hiranmagri. The woman was reportedly mentally unstable. The incident occurred on Thursday morning.

50 year old woman Rajkumari w/o Mukesh Sen left her residence around 11 a.m. on Thursday. As informed by the woman’s family, she was undergoing treatment in MB Hospital. She was mentally unstable but could understand a lot of things. When police enquired with the woman’s family, they said that it is not a case of domestic violence or fight between family members. Though she was mentally unstable, she understood things well. A colony resident said that his house is in front of the water tank. Rajkumari was seen moving around at the tank around 12 noon by another woman who is also a colony resident. Then she was seen sitting with her legs hanging down from the corner. The woman shouted out to Rajkumari to get down from the water tank after which she got scared and went to the other side where she could not be seen. Meanwhile people started gathering around the tank but by that she jumped to her death.

Initially people could not recognise her. Some other colony residents also reached later who recognised her. Rajkumari’s daughter who runs a beauty parlour in the colony was called immediately and she recognised her mother. The family was informed who rushed to the spot. The son was heard asking his father as to why he left her alone when she was mentally unstable. Police is investigating the case.
