This record breaking Air India flight AI-176 between San Francisco and Bengaluru finally landed at Bengaluru International Airport today. Many national and international records have been broken by the All-Woman crew Capt Zoya Aggarwal (P1), Capt Papagari Thanmai (P1), Capt Akansha Sonaware (P2) and Capt Shivani Manhas (P2).

AI-176 is the first Indian flight to have undertaken a 17-hour journey, the longest commercial flight by any Indian airline. It may be noted that the All-Woman crew completed the journey much before time. The direct distance between Bengaluru and San Francisco is 13,993 kms approx. and the time zone change is around 13.5 hours.

The total flight time on this route was estimated to be more than 17 hours depending on the wind speed. The crew created a record by completing this journey in less than 17 hours.
