International Womens Day was celebrated in style at the Maharana Pratap Airport in Dabok, Udaipur. An all women crew managed the Air Traffic Control for a day.
Four women managed the take off for 14 air crafts and landing for 14 air crafts on Sunday, as a special task. The three ladies, all ATS Officers, included Rukhsar Bano, Sheetal Garg, Hema Saini and Sangeeta Meena, who between themselves managed 28 aircraft. They were supported by a back up of 8 male members at the air traffic control tower.
This team of 12 manages the Air Traffic Control at Udaipur Airport, and as a special gesture on Womens Day, the four ladies were asked to manage the ATC all by themselves. All four ladies have been trained in this at the Prayagraj, Hyderabad and Godiya training facilities of Airport Authority of India.
