Women have gone ahead once again to protest against liquor shops in residential areas. The All India Progressive Women’s Association did a showdown in front of Collector’s office regarding the wine shop in Vijay Singh Pathik Nagar of Savina area. They demanded that the liquor shop in this residential area be closed as there are temples, schools and a play ground for children here. A lot of drunk men gather in this area creating a nuisance. The residents are extremely agitated because of the incidents happening after the liquor shop opened. The pleas of the colony residents went unheard and this has aroused anger. They said that there is water scarcity but liquor shops are spreading everywhere. An immediate action is now demanded on this issue.
