The 29th Workshop of AICRP on Farm Implements and Machinery concluded today at MPUAT, Udaipur.
The 29th Workshop of AICRP on Farm Implements and Machinery concluded today at MPUAT, Udaipur.
In the three day long workshop, the strategy of farm mechanization in different states of India was discussed. Further, strategies on new programmes to be taken up for the farm mechanization needs were finalized for the work of 24 different centres in the country.
During the workshop, special emphasis was given on Sugarcane and Cotton mechanization in association with the related industry. For the Rajasthan centre, work on Garlic, Drift control and Potato combine as new projects were finalized for research.
On the occasion, Dr. M.M.Pandey, Deputy Director General of ICAR and Dr S.K.Nanda, Project Incharge were felicitated for their commendable services in this project. The felicitation was done by Dr.N.S.Rathore, Dean CTAE, Dr Y.C.Bhatt, Project Incharge of MPUAT, Udaipur Centre, Dr. C.R.Mehta and Dr L.P.Gite, Project Coordinator from CIAE Bhopal.
In his fervent and motivating speech, Dr Pandey highlighted that there is a big challenge for the research engineers in this project to work hard for the benefit of farmers due to the rise in cost of production and diminishing human labour component in production agriculture. There is a need for development of appropriate technology for various crops grown in different regions.
Dr Nanda, the project Incharge from Orissa, also highlighted the progress of farm mechanization in the State of Orissa and the most humble qualities of Dr Pandey and his steward leadership as project coordinator, Director and DDG Engineering.
The vote of thanks was given by Dr. C.R.Mehta and programme was organized by Dr.Deepak Sharma. On behalf of two progressive farmer groups, Shri Kaira Ram Patidar from Sanchore and Ganesh Lal Jat from Mavli also felicitated Dr Pandey.
