The one-and-half year old panther that had been rescued from “Sadri forest range” of Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary passed away at the Gulab Bagh Zoo today.

The panther could not be saved despite the diligent efforts of forest department workers.

According to the post mortem report, the young beast had internal stomach rupture and was not able to eat or move.

Medical officials said that panther might have taken some sharp edged material in its food which resulted in severe stomach rupture.

The dead body of the panther was put to flame in presence of the forest department officials and the administration at Gulabh Bagh Zoo. Ram Singh, the Care taker, gave the fire to body of the leopard with sore eyes.

State Government needs to equip Forest Department officials with high tech medical equipments so that these rare and endangered animals can be saved.

Forest Officials also informed that one paralytic “langoor”, (Semnopithecus Entellus) has been brought to the Gulabh Bagh zoo for treatment while some langoors were released from captivity to the Jaisamand Wild life Sanctuary.
