A Gujarati youth drowned in Goverdhan Sagar on Sunday. The 24 year old youth Karan Gavaria was basically from Vadodara. He got married a year back and was in Udaipur with his wife visiting his in-laws. On Sunday the family went to Goverdhan Sagar where Karan went for a swim and moved much ahead in the water and drowned. Police and divers were called for but by the time they took him out of the water, he was dead.

It may be noted that just a day prior to this incident, an agreement had taken place between police, UIT, Administration, Municipal Corporation and advocates regarding safety measures at lakes.
