 Members of Lake City Press Club, Udaipur submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police today morning, seeking action against certain police personnel for manhandling a journalist.

The incident goes back 3 days ago, when a reporter representing Zee News, was covering an incident in the Surajpol area.  During the routine, when he attempted to ask questions while covering the incident.

As per Dheeraj Rawal, the reporter from Zee News, he was stopped by the police while covering the incident.  He says that inspite of requesting and informing the police that he was from the media, he was still manhandled and abused.  This behavior was unacceptable, said Dheeraj.

Seeking action against the policeman, a Sub Inspector from the Surajpol Police station, members of the Udaipur press fraternity submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, Kailash Vishnoi.

In the memorandum, which has been submitted under the banner of Lake City Press Club, Udaipur, signatories have requested an enquiry and suitable action against Police personnel involved in the incident.  Reporters and press from both print and online media were present during the meeting with the SP.
