Mumbai, Sept 19, 2025: Heartbreaking news has come from Bollywood. Singer Zubin Garg, who gave Hindi cinema many hit songs like "Ya Ali," "Subah Subah," "Dil Tu Hi Bata" and "Jiya Re Jiya Re" has passed away. The 52-year-old Assamese singer and cultural icon died while scuba diving. An Assamese cabinet minister shared the news of his death on Friday afternoon.

Police Rescue and Hospitalization

According to media reports, singer Zubeen Garg was scuba diving when the accident happened. Singapore police rescued him from the sea and took him to a nearby hospital. Despite medical treatment, doctors could not save him.

Zubeen was in Singapore to attend the North East Festival, where he was to perform on September 20. His sudden death has shocked his fans and the entire Assamese community. The music industry has lost a big star.

Assam Mourns Zubeen

Assam Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal shared the news on Instagram. He wrote, "Deeply saddened by the sudden demise of our beloved Zubeen Garg. Assam has lost not just a voice, but its heartbeat. His songs shared our culture and emotions with the world."

He also wrote, "Generations found joy and identity through his music. His death has left a wound that will never heal. My condolences to his family, friends, and fans. May his soul rest in peace."

Zubeen was not only a singer but also an actor. He worked in films like Tumi Mur Matho Mur, Prem Aru Prem, Gangster, and Big Brother in 2000. He also appeared on screen in many songs.
