Honda Rebel 500 Unveiled With TFT Display and E-Clutch, Check India Launch Details
Honda has unveiled the 2027 Rebel 500 with a new 3.5-inch TFT display, optional e-clutch technology and two new colour options. The motorcycle retains its 471cc parallel-twin engine, while its India launch is expected in early 2027.
October 09, 2026: Honda has unveiled the 2027 Rebel 500 with several important technical updates. The biggest additions are a new 3.5-inch round TFT instrument cluster and Honda’s e-clutch system. The switchgear has also been revised, and two new colour options have been introduced.
These updates to the 2027 Rebel 500, unveiled for international markets, are also in line with the model showcased for India. Earlier this year, when Honda presented its 10-model lineup in India, the Rebel 500 was shown with a similar display and e-clutch technology.
New 3.5-Inch Round TFT Display
Honda has replaced the previous negative LCD instrument cluster with a new 3.5-inch round TFT display on the 2027 Rebel 500. The new screen gives the motorcycle a more modern technological appeal. A similar display was also seen on the Rebel 500 showcased for India earlier this year.
Honda has also revised the left-side switchgear to make it easier for riders to operate the new display and access its features. Two additional buttons have been added to improve convenience and control.
Honda Rebel 500 Gets E-Clutch for the First Time
One of the biggest updates to the 2027 Rebel 500 is the addition of Honda’s e-clutch system. This technology makes clutch operation easier and simplifies gear changes.
Honda has offered this technology on the smaller Rebel 300 in international markets since last year. However, the 2027 Rebel 500 is the first version of the larger motorcycle to offer the e-clutch system as an option in international markets.
The technology was also seen on the Rebel 500 showcased for India earlier this year. The e-clutch allows riders to change gears without operating the clutch lever manually, while conventional clutch control remains available when needed. This gives riders greater flexibility and makes the motorcycle easier to operate.
471cc Engine Remains Unchanged
Despite the addition of new technology, Honda has not made any changes to the Rebel 500’s engine. It continues to use the same 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine.
The engine produces a maximum power of 46.2hp at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 43.3Nm at 6,000rpm. This means the main updates to the 2027 model focus on technology and rider convenience rather than engine performance.
Two New Colour Options
Honda has introduced two new colour options for the updated Rebel 500. In Europe, the motorcycle is available in an S Edition, which features a headlight cowl, fork covers, fork gaiters, a brown diamond-stitched seat and bronze-coloured wheels.
The Rebel 500 S Edition now gets a new Candy Rosy Red colour option, alongside the existing Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic finish. Meanwhile, the standard Rebel 500 is available in a new Matte Fresco Brown colour, in addition to the existing black option.
No Major Changes to the Design
Although Honda has introduced a new display, revised switchgear and the e-clutch system, the overall design of the Rebel 500 remains largely unchanged. The motorcycle retains its familiar cruiser styling and distinctive design.
As a result, the 2027 model is primarily a technology-focused update. Features such as the new TFT display and optional e-clutch system make the motorcycle more modern without changing its core character.
When Will the Honda Rebel 500 Launch in India?
Honda showcased the Rebel 500 for the Indian market in July this year. The company indicated that the motorcycle is scheduled to launch in India early next year.
Meanwhile, Honda has already announced the pricing and launch details of the smaller Rebel 300. The Rebel 300 is priced from INR 2.22 lakh in India.
Honda has not yet announced the official price of the Rebel 500 for the Indian market. However, the latest international updates, including the 3.5-inch TFT display and e-clutch system, could increase interest among Indian buyers, particularly as similar features were seen on the version showcased earlier this year.
