October 07, 2026: Ampere has launched the new Nexus EX+ electric scooter in the Indian market. The new model is an updated version of the Nexus and comes with a more powerful motor and a water-resistant charger. In addition, the higher variant gets Ampere’s Intellipack connected technology, which offers several smart features, including navigation, geofencing and call alerts.

The price of the new Nexus EX+ starts at Rs 1.30 lakh, while the higher variant with Intellipack is priced at Rs 1.36 lakh.

5kW Motor Is More Powerful Than Before

The biggest upgrade on the new Nexus EX+ is its motor. While the previous model was equipped with a 4kW motor, the new EX+ gets a more powerful 5kW motor.

The company claims that the motor produces a peak torque of 202Nm at the wheel. However, due to the gearing used in electric scooters, the torque figure at the wheel is usually much higher. Therefore, this figure should not be directly compared with the torque figures of an engine or motor.

In terms of performance, the Nexus EX+ is claimed to accelerate from 0- 40 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Ampere also says that the new motor improves the scooter’s climbing ability or gradeability, particularly on steep roads, flyovers and hilly roads.

750W IP65-Rated Charger

The charging system has also been upgraded. The Nexus EX+ now comes with a 750W charger that carries an IP65 rating and is water-resistant.

This feature could be particularly useful for users who do not have a fully covered parking space at home. The water-resistant design of the charger provides additional convenience when charging the scooter in open areas.

Over 30 Connected Features With Intellipack

The second variant of the Nexus EX+ comes with Intellipack connected technology. This system works through the Ampere Connect app and offers more than 30 connected features.

These include:

  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Geofencing
  • Call alerts
  • Live location sharing
  • Real-time charging status
  • Find My Scooter
  • Several other connected features

As a result, the smartphone-to-scooter connectivity has been further enhanced.

3kWh LFP Battery With 136km Range

In terms of battery, the new Nexus EX+ uses a 3kWh LFP battery. According to the company, the scooter offers an IDC range of 136km.

The battery comes with a warranty of 5 years or 75,000km, whichever comes first. Meanwhile, the rest of the scooter is covered by a warranty of 3 years or 30,000km.

Both the new Nexus EX+ and the Nexus EX+ with Intellipack are currently available at various Ampere dealerships across the country.

Nexus Now Available In Only Two Variants

Earlier, the Ampere Nexus was available in two variants: EX and ST. The main differences between the two included the instrument cluster, connected features and pricing.

The company has now simplified the Nexus portfolio. As a result, the new Nexus EX+ and Nexus EX+ with Intellipack are the only two variants available.

The standard Nexus EX+ is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh, while the model with Intellipack is priced at Rs 1.36 lakh.

Which Scooters Does It Compete With?

The Nexus EX+ is positioned in the mid-to-high segment of family-oriented electric scooters. In this segment, it competes with models such as the TVS iQube 3.1kWh, Ather Konarc, Vida VX2 and Chetak C3001.

With a new 5kW motor, a claimed IDC range of 136km, an LFP battery, a water-resistant 750W charger and connected features through Intellipack, the Nexus EX+ could be a significant option for buyers who prioritise range, performance and features.
