Hyundai Bayon Bookings Open in India: Check Price, Features and Launch Details
Hyundai has opened bookings for the new Bayon in India. Check its expected price, features, engine, safety equipment, rivals and October 2026 launch details.
September 24, 2026: Hyundai is bringing a new model to the compact SUV market in India. After releasing a series of teasers, the company has now started bookings for the upcoming Hyundai Bayon in India. The car can be booked online as well as through authorised Hyundai dealerships across the country.
A booking fee of ₹11,000 is required for the Bayon. The car will be positioned between the Venue and the Creta in Hyundai's Indian model lineup. The company's new crossover SUV is expected to be launched in India in October 2026.
A Compact SUV Measuring About 4.2 Metres Long
Some details about the Bayon's design have emerged from the teaser images and videos released so far. The India-spec Bayon will feature inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, which will be connected by a narrow black trim.
Below the DRLs, vertically arranged LED headlamps will be placed on both sides of the bumper. A small grille has been positioned in the centre. Hyundai has already confirmed that the Bayon will be positioned in the compact SUV segment, with the car measuring around 4.2 metres in length.
The crossover character of the car is more noticeable in its side profile. It gets a sloping roof, an upward-rising window line near the C-pillar and roof rails. The Indian version will also feature specially designed dual-tone alloy wheels.
A Different Design at the Rear
Hyundai has also used several new design elements at the rear of the Bayon. The SUV will feature a roof-mounted spoiler and inverted L-shaped taillights. The tailgate will carry the ‘Bayon’ badge along with the Hyundai logo. A rear wiper has also been added.
Overall, Hyundai has tried to give the Bayon a sporty, crossover-inspired look compared with conventional SUVs.
The Cabin Will Have a Connected Screen
Hyundai has already released teaser sketches of the Bayon's cabin. These suggest that the SUV could feature a three-spoke steering wheel and a connected screen setup. The cabin design has some similarities with the recently launched Brazil-spec new-generation Hyundai i20.
To give the cabin a more premium feel, leatherette upholstery may also be offered in the Bayon.
Possible Features May Include a Panoramic Sunroof
The Bayon could be well-equipped in terms of features. The possible list includes dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting and a wireless phone charger.
A rear sunshade could also be available for rear passengers. However, Hyundai has not confirmed all these features yet. Therefore, the final feature list may vary depending on the variant.
Six Airbags and ADAS for Safety
In terms of safety, the Bayon is also expected to offer several modern systems. These may include six airbags as standard, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
The most notable addition could be a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). However, Hyundai has not yet confirmed which variants in India will receive ADAS.
Creta 1.5-Litre Petrol Engine
Hyundai has confirmed that the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine from the Creta will be used in the Bayon. According to the specifications of this engine in the Creta, it produces 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of maximum torque.
The engine will be available with a six-speed manual and CVT gearbox options. This means Hyundai is currently focusing on the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine for the Bayon instead of offering diesel or turbo-petrol options.

How Much Could It Be Priced?
Hyundai has not yet revealed the price of the Bayon. However, it is estimated that the possible ex-showroom price could be between ₹10 lakh and ₹15 lakh.
If Hyundai prices the Bayon within this range, it could be positioned between the Venue and Creta in the company's lineup. At the same time, the car will have to compete with several models in the mid-size SUV segment.
Potential rivals include the Maruti Suzuki Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos, Škoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton and Hyundai Creta.
Will It Hit the Market in October?
The launch of the Hyundai Bayon is now getting closer as bookings have begun. The company has not yet announced a specific launch date. However, the car is expected to be launched in India in October 2026.
After bookings begin, buyers are still waiting for complete details about the variants, features, mileage, price and deliveries. In particular, the pricing of the Bayon compared with the Creta and the availability of ADAS and other premium features will be important details to watch.
