Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric India Launch: Check Price, Range and Features
Mercedes-Benz is preparing to launch the GLC Electric in India on November 4. Here is everything you need to know about its expected price, range, performance, features and rivals.
October 06, 2026: Mercedes-Benz has started preparing to launch a new electric SUV in India. Bookings for the new Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric have already started, while its official launch in India is scheduled for November 4. The expected ex-showroom price could be between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 90 lakh.
The GLC Electric 400 4Matic is available in international markets with a 94kWh battery pack. The battery is claimed to offer a maximum WLTP range of up to 715 km on a single full charge.
490hp Power and 800Nm Torque
The international-spec Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric 400 4Matic gets a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. This powertrain produces up to 490hp of power and 800Nm of torque.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds. This is strong performance for an SUV with a kerb weight of around 2.5 tonnes.
The GLC Electric 400 4Matic also supports 330kW DC fast charging. Mercedes-Benz claims that the system can add up to 300 km of range in just 10 minutes. The international model also gets rear-axle steering and air suspension, which can improve handling and make low-speed driving easier.
Different Design with Star-Shaped Lights
The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric gets a distinctive design with several star-shaped lighting elements. At the front, it features a large grille with rounded edges and illuminated elements. It also gets Tri-Star-shaped LED daytime running lights and projector LED headlights.
The side profile is relatively simple. The international model is available with alloy wheels of up to 21 inches, along with flush-fitting door handles and narrow cladding around the wheel arches.
At the rear, the SUV gets star-shaped LED tail-lights with a circular design. The lights on both sides are connected by a gloss-black trim. The front Mercedes-Benz logo is illuminated, while the rear gets a solid 3D badge. An AMG Line version is also available internationally with a sportier grille and alloy wheel design.
Huge 39.1-Inch Screen Inside the Cabin
One of the biggest highlights of the GLC Electric's interior is its large 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen. Mercedes-Benz says it is the largest display used in one of its cars so far.
The screen combines the driver display, infotainment touchscreen and passenger display into a single unit. The system runs on the company's fourth-generation MBUX interface and also features a built-in AI assistant.
While many modern electric cars rely heavily on touchscreen controls, the GLC Electric also has some physical controls. Physical controls are available on the steering wheel and centre console. The SUV comes with a five-seat layout.
Expected Price and Rivals in India
The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is expected to be priced between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 90 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. However, the final price will be announced at the time of its launch on November 4.
After its launch, the electric SUV could compete with other luxury electric SUVs in India. One potential rival is the BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase, which is scheduled to launch in India in 2027.
With bookings already underway, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is set to add another option to India's luxury electric SUV market. More details about its final price and India-specific specifications are expected to be revealed at the launch.
