October 05, 2026: Mercedes-Benz is set to make a new addition to the Indian luxury car market. The German carmaker is set to launch the updated Maybach S-Class in India tomorrow, October 5. The company’s flagship limousine has received several updates in terms of design and technology. However, Mercedes-Benz has not yet revealed which variants, features, and powertrains will be available in India. Specific information for the Indian market is expected to be revealed at the time of the launch.

The design of the Maybach S-Class has become more eye-catching

Despite the update, Mercedes-Benz has retained the familiar silhouette of the Maybach S-Class. However, several important changes have been made to the front of the car. The new model gets a larger grille with Maybach’s familiar vertical slats. The grille can also be illuminated.

The bonnet now gets an illuminated Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star. The new headlights feature three-pointed-star-shaped daytime running lights. The car also gets a redesigned lower bumper and an illuminated Maybach logo on the D-pillar.

New 20-inch and 21-inch alloy wheel designs are also available in the international market. There are also dual-tone paint schemes and more personalisation options.

The biggest update in the cabin is the Superscreen

The biggest change in the cabin of the Maybach S-Class is the addition of Mercedes-Benz’s Superscreen layout. This setup includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display.

The international-market models also get the latest MB.OS operating system and fourth-generation MBUX. However, in the Maybach S-Class, the rear cabin remains the most important part. Rear passengers get reclining seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions.

Multiple powertrain options

In the international market, the Maybach S-Class is available with petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains. However, Mercedes-Benz is yet to confirm which engine or powertrain will be offered in India.

The S 580 model gets an updated 4.0-litre V8 engine. This engine produces 537 bhp of power and 750 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the S 580e model gets a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine along with an electric motor and a 22 kWh battery. The combined output of this powertrain is 585 bhp and 750 Nm of torque.

The S 680 remains the most powerful, range-topping variant of the Maybach S-Class in select international markets. However, which of these three powertrains will be available in India will be clear only at the launch on October 5.

Price may cross ₹3 crore

The Maybach S-Class currently sold in India is priced at around ₹2.88 crore, ex-showroom. The updated model is likely to see a further increase in price as it comes with design, technology, and feature updates.

The new Maybach S-Class is expected to start at around ₹3 crore, ex-showroom, in India. However, the final pricing, India-specific variants, and powertrain details will be confirmed after the launch on October 5.

With its new design, Superscreen cabin, advanced technology, and luxurious features for rear passengers, the updated Maybach S-Class could become a stronger contender in the Indian premium limousine market.
