Nissan Tekton 7-Seater SUV Spotted Testing, Check Expected Price, Features and Engine Details
Nissan's upcoming Tekton 7-seater SUV has been spotted testing in India. The three-row SUV could feature a longer wheelbase, connected LED taillights, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. Here's a look at its expected price, specifications and competition.
October 09, 2026: Nissan is preparing to make a splash in the Indian SUV market. The company has started testing the 7-seater version of its upcoming Tekton SUV, and recently, some spy images of the vehicle surfaced online. These images have revealed key details about its design, interior space and possible safety features. The new Nissan SUV is expected to compete with models like the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV 7XO.
Long Body and More Interior Space
The new version is based on the design of the 5-seater Tekton. However, its body is expected to be longer to accommodate the third row of seats. Nissan is developing this three-row SUV as part of its 2027 India vehicle plan. Both models are expected to be built on the CMF-B platform.
However, the 7-seater version will not simply be a longer version of the 5-seater model. It could have a wheelbase of around 2,657 mm, providing more space for passengers inside the cabin.
New Alloy Wheels and a Different Rear Design
During testing, the SUV was spotted with 18-inch alloy wheels and 225/60-section tyres. These tyres have taller sidewalls than the 225/55-section tyres expected on the 5-seater version.
The front design retains familiar Tekton elements, including the L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). However, the bumper features additional vertical design elements on both sides, giving it a slightly different appearance.
The most noticeable changes are expected at the rear. Connected LED taillights and a number plate slot positioned lower on the bumper could give the 7-seater model a distinct look compared to the 5-seater version.
Radar-Based ADAS Safety Features
The latest spy images reveal a millimetre-wave radar sensor mounted on the front bumper. If this feature is retained in the production model, the 7-seater Tekton could offer an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).
The 5-seater Tekton is expected to offer features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning and traffic sign recognition. However, Nissan has not yet officially confirmed the complete list of safety features for the upcoming 7-seater version.
Possible 1.3-Litre Turbo-Petrol Engine
Nissan has not yet revealed the engine specifications of the new 7-seater SUV. However, reports suggest that it could be powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 163 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque.
The engine could be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Meanwhile, the 5-seater Tekton is expected to get a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
The 7-seater version is expected to be priced from around ₹18 lakh, although Nissan has not officially announced its price. Once launched, it will compete with the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV 7XO in India's competitive SUV market.
