Shwetasha Paliwal (21) had enrolled for the competition along with other 850 participants from all over India, out of them 112 were selected. 28 contenders had applied for the competition from the north region.

In the event that held at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi on August 5, Shewtasha with her team of hair colorist Pushkar Sen, Make-up artist Rita and model Sugandha won the North India L’Oreal Color Trophy.

The competition was judged by Caterina Di Biase– winner of Australian Hair Dresser of 2009, Nonita Kalra– style icon and fashion editor of Elle Magazine and renowned make-up artist Virginia Holmes.

Now the team is all set to prepare for the finals which are going to be held in Mumbai on October 8, 2011.

While talking to us, Shwetasha said “I was very calm and confident this time, perhaps because I had faced intense pressure in Wella Trend Vision 2010 which was held last year, where I stood under top 8 national finalists, but my level of confidence was very low.”

In L’Oreal we had a real good time, and I never felt that I was a participant, added Shwetasha.

In a press conference held today, Ashok Paliwal-Head of Prabhat Spa and Saloon said, “Competing with participants from metro cities was tougher few years back but now we too have that high end education and knowledge.

But the only thing which still lacks in us is exposure. A city like Udaipur has lots of creative people but there are no opportunities for them.”

In finals which are to be held in Mumbai, one female and one male winner will receive trophy and a 4 day advance hair cut and color training will be provided to them.

Ashok Paliwal said that “this competition will definitely attract new generation to pick the art of hair dressing and coloring as a career”.
