Tata Harrier EV new price after 2026 price hike and BAAS battery rental option

October 04, 2026:Tata Motors had earlier announced plans to increase prices across its entire range of vehicles. The decision has now affected the company's electric flagship SUV, the Tata Harrier EV. According to the new price list, the price of the car has increased by Rs 10,000 to Rs 11,000, depending on the variant.

After the price increase, the ex-showroom price of the Tata Harrier EV now starts at Rs 21.79 lakh. On the other hand, the price of the top-end variant has increased to Rs 30.54 lakh, ex-showroom.

Prices Increased Across All Variants

The price increase for the Tata Harrier EV is not the same across all variants. Depending on the variant, the price has increased by Rs 10,000 to Rs 11,000.

The price has increased by the highest amount of Rs 11,000 for certain variants. As a result, buyers will now have to pay slightly more for these versions of the Harrier EV than they did earlier.

After the latest price revision, the ex-showroom price of the base variant of the Harrier EV stands at Rs 21.79 lakh. The top-spec variant is now priced at Rs 30.54 lakh. However, the on-road price may be higher depending on the state, as registration, insurance and other applicable charges are added to the ex-showroom price.

Price Revision Across Tata Motors' Entire Portfolio

Tata Motors had recently announced plans to increase prices across its entire passenger vehicle portfolio. The company has revised prices at different rates for different models. As part of this price revision, the price of the Harrier EV has also been increased.

The price revision comes as competition in the electric SUV segment continues to grow. The Harrier EV is one of the key models in Tata Motors' electric vehicle portfolio.

Battery Rental Can Reduce the Initial Cost

Tata Motors recently announced the expansion of its Battery as a Service (BAAS) programme across its electric vehicle range. Under this system, buyers do not have to pay the entire battery cost upfront when purchasing the car. This significantly reduces the initial cost of the vehicle.

In the case of the Harrier EV, the upfront cost is reduced by Rs 7.30 lakh under the BAAS system. As a result, the effective starting price of the car under this programme is Rs 14.49 lakh.

However, buyers will have to pay a battery rental fee of Rs 5.90 per kilometre. This means that while the initial purchase cost is lower under the BAAS system, the battery rental cost will be added based on the distance travelled.

How Is the Price Changing Under BAAS?

The regular ex-showroom price of the Tata Harrier EV starts at Rs 21.79 lakh. Under the BAAS programme, the upfront price is reduced by Rs 7.30 lakh, bringing the effective starting price down to Rs 14.49 lakh.

Topic Price
Harrier EV new starting price Rs 21.79 lakh
New price of the top variant Rs 30.54 lakh
Price increase Rs 10,000–Rs 11,000
Upfront cost reduced under BAAS Rs 7.30 lakh
Effective starting price under BAAS Rs 14.49 lakh
Battery rental Rs 5.90 per kilometre

Important Points for Buyers

Buyers will have two different pricing options when purchasing the Harrier EV. Under the conventional pricing structure, the ex-showroom price starts at Rs 21.79 lakh. Under the BAAS programme, the initial cost starts at Rs 14.49 lakh, but buyers have to pay a battery rental fee of Rs 5.90 per kilometre.

Therefore, the more suitable option will depend on how much the car is driven and how much the buyer wants to spend upfront.

Despite the price increase, buyers can opt for a lower initial cost through the BAAS programme. However, those choosing BAAS should also consider the battery rental cost per kilometre before making a decision.

The new ex-showroom price of the Tata Harrier EV starts at Rs 21.79 lakh, while the top-end variant is priced at Rs 30.54 lakh. Depending on the variant, prices have increased by Rs 10,000 to Rs 11,000. Tata Motors has also provided the BAAS option, which lowers the initial purchase cost to Rs 14.49 lakh, subject to the applicable battery rental charges.
