In a lottery organized at UIT (Urban Improvement Trust) to assign Plots to Journalists working in various News Papers and Electronic Media, 108 lucky media professionals received the plots; remaining ones will receive the same in the second phase.

108 journalists were shortlisted from a list of nearly 170 working journalist, under a scheme announced around 2 years back by State Government to honor the journalists in the state.

According to Roop Kumar Khurrana, Chairmen, UIT, all these plots area a part of South Extension of the City and are given at highly discounted rates as per the scheme. All the infrastructural facilities such as road and sewerage system in the area will be the responsibility of the Trust, added Khurrana.
