Top corporates look for tech skills coupled with soft skills such as people management abilities, capacity to cope with disagreements and ability to view technology from varied perspectives. Prakhar Nahar, a technology student belonging to Udaipur was able to break out of the crowd due to these abilities. He has translated a college internship with Meta (Facebook), US, into a concrete job offer and is all smiles on the eight figure pay package, which is a one of its kind. UdaipurTimes had the privelege of meeting Prakhar a couple of hours before he left for the US.
Prakhar appears to be any other hardworking, genuine and soft-spoken young man from our small city, but this achievement of his at a time when tech companies are in the news for their mass layfoss, speaks of his abilities that set him apart. Prakhar Nahar, just out of college, has achieved great success in the United States. He has been offered a salary that reads not thousands, not lakhs, but crores. He made this possible in a small span of time with an international college degree and an internship.
Prakhar Nahar has done his schooling from DPS school Udaipur. Problem solving, creativity, ideation, attention to detail and many other characteristics have been instilled in him, making him an excellent software developer. He was groomed strongly for his SAT and AP exams by Vineet Baya of ConsultVB, Udaipur. Vineet handheld Prakhar through the rigors of profiling to US College application processes as well as equipping him with skills like problem solving, creativity, ideation, attention to detail, etc.
He got admission at the Purdue University of USA for undergraduate degree in Computer Science. Unlike many disoriented and disheartened students, Prakhar took the COVID phase as a learning opportunity. He did twice the number of credits, thereby, completing his 4 year degree in 3 years. During this period he got an internship with Meta a.k.a Facebook for three months in NewYork, subsequent to which, he was made an offer of US $370000. This is a plum figure even by US standards and translates to appoximately Rs 3 Cr in Indian rupees. Prakhar begins his job at Meta from January 2023.
In his interaction with UdaipurTimes, Prakhar expressed gratitude to his parents for allowing him to go across foreign borders. He also expressed his gratitude to mentors like Vineet Baya, who served as a wonderful compass in guiding him to the correct global education routes, while also preparing him to connect his abilities and objectives with the right institution and opportunity. Prakhar comes from a humble background, his father Abhay Nahar being a businessman and mother a housewife. Prakhar has a twin sister and another elder sister, who is a Cost Accountant.
