Australian Cricketer and Batting All Rounder Andrew Symonds dies late yesterday night (early morning of 15 May in Australia) in a car crash. Police confirmed that he was the sole passenger in the car crash that occured outside Townsville in Queensland, which is Andrew's home state.

“Early information indicates, shortly after 11pm the car was being driven on Hervey Range Road, near Alice River Bridge when it left the roadway and rolled,” the police statement confirmed.

The police added that though emergency services tried to revive Andrew after pulling him out of the crash, but he could make it.  The accident happened at 11pm Australia time.

Brief on Andrew Symonds

Andrew was a batting all rounder for the Australian National Cricket Team and was a part of two world cup winning squads. He played 26 test matches for Australia but was more of a limited overs specialist. He played 198 one-day international matches for Australia.
