A small gym of a BIG Man

In spite of a dozen highly reputed and flashy gyms and fitness centers running in the city, there is something specific that makes Body Craze Health Centre a trend and top pick amongst the fitness conscious common man of Udaipur. This health center is less known by its name and more by its owner and chief instructor, Rajneesh Sharma.

More interestingly, Rajneesh Sharma is also lesser known by his name than the nickname, Sanju Baba, which is also the nick name of film star, Sanjay Dutt.

The physical personality of Rajneesh, a.k.a. Sanju Baba, resembles that of Sanjay Dutt and depicts his entire physical characteristics. His bulky but well-shaped muscles, coupled with an over 6 feet height give him an appearance of the Strongest Man of Udaipur.

The 18 inch biceps and 52 inch wide chest adds a few more shining stars to this 40-year-old bodybuilding and fitness trainer of Udaipur who has been listed among the few dedicated sportsmen of Udaipur in this particular niche.

There are a number of fitness trainers working in many reputed gyms in and around Udaipur who were actually trained by Rajneesh himself.

On speaking to Sanju Baba, UT got an insight into the concept that he follows to train himself as well as his students. He motivates his students to optimally use the internal power that is present in the body, along with ensuring that none of the students take a break while they are training, which is optimally a session of 1 to 1.5 hrs.

Further, being a keen fitness and body enthusiast himself, he imparts knowledge on muscle functioning and body areas to be taken cared of during the training. His emphasis on utilizing the inner strength of the body to enhance the power of the muscles; while at the same time, ensuring that the body is not adversely affected is what sets this training apart.

This personal approach is what makes him a hit within his student and followers. Perhaps, that’s the reason why Sanju Baba’s team performs best in any district, state or national level powerlifting; bench press and weight lifting competitions.

Going back a few decades from now, there was a time when Rajneesh too, like any other youngster was puzzled about his career and at that time his Uncle, C.P. Sharma exposed him to the fitness world. Inspired with his uncle’s advice he started body building in 1995.

Later, he went to Mumbai in 1997, took training there to be a fitness trainer and came back Udaipur in 2 years to open up his own fitness center, with a small gymnasium at Madhuban with a bit ofmandatory equipment and 2 students.

In 2001, as he became popular, he increased his fees to Rs. 100 per month. Even today his monthly fee is just Rs200. The increase in fee was to accommodate more students and to invest in equipment, rather than anything else.

Rajneesh works as a one man army and has never employed any trainers for his gym. He gives training in aerobics, weight gain/loss, and power weight and diet schedule. He also works as a physiotherapist at Dr.Bakhtawar’s clinic.

Rajneesh goes retro and remembers how he was a skinny guy himself and how his family was worried about his health. It took him four months to increase his diet. He eats all kinds of food but mainly his diet consists of various kinds of salads.

He has represented India in Bench Press Competition and 4-5 of his students have also participated at the state level.

Body Craze Health Centre, is located in the Madhuban area.
