Team Udaipur with the Runners Up Trophy – Rajasthan Sub Junior Football

Udaipur team, after reaching the finals of the Rajasthan State Sub Junior Football Tournament in style, emerged as Runner-up at the tournament.

In the final match played on 19th July, Kota beat Udaipur 2-1 in a scintillating final. The members of the Udaipur team however won many hearts and awards as well.

Adnan Khan of Udaipur was awarded Best Player and Dhananjay Darji was awarded Best Scorer for maximum goals in the tournament.

DFA Secretary Kuldeep Jhala and Kota team coach Rizwan Khan informed that Kota beat Ajmer earlier in the day to enter the finals.

As per Shakeel Ahmed, Treasurer, District Football Association, Udaipur and a passionate trainer, the final played at Ummed Singh Stadium was affected to a large extent by rain. He said that the final was a close contest, and the Udaipur team, though it lost the match, had the audience on their feet in applaud and appreciation.

Best Scorer Dhananjay Darji (Udaipur)

Players of the both the team played outstanding football, but the initial two goals scored by Amit and Aakash for Kota took the pressure to Udaipur. The Udaipur team then counter attacked many a time, but the brilliant efforts from the Kota goal keeper Ayush prevented the ball from entering the nets. Udaipur persisted in its efforts and Adnan scored the solitary goal for Udaipur. Rain then took over and the match was called off, giving Kota the advantage and the trophy at 2 goals to 1.

Prahlad Gunjal was the chief guest at the ceremony. DFA Secretary Kuldeep Jhala, as chief guest, Rajasthan Football Association Secretary Dileep Singh Shekhawat, Liyaqat Ali and Kamal Goswami presented the awards to the winning team as well as the runners up team.

Kota goal keeper was awarded the Best Goalkeeper Award for his persistence at the goal post to ensure that his team emerge winners.

Best Goalkeeper – Ayush (Kota)

DFA Kota Secretary Mahendra Pal Singh and Treasurer Ramendra Singh informed that in the other match being played simultaneously, Sri Ganganagar beat Ajmer 3-0 to take third place.
